Wootten Bassett, Wiltshire
The design focus was to divide this once open and exposed garden down into smaller, more intimate rooms, whilst retaining the views out to the wider landscape.
Working with the client, we looked at shapes and forms that would suite the original farm house, and enhance the surrounding view and features. The client wanted to include a kitchen garden, herbaceous boarder garden and also a formal lawn close to the house which turned into an informal wildflower meadow was you moved towards the boundary. Hedge planting was used throughout in a in a very formal manor to create rooms and define paths whilst also providing protection from the prevailing wind on this exposed site. We were also consulted on the tiered levels of the garden in order to create more usable space.
